Tyre performance that shapes real-world aero

SMOOTHER RIDE

Wider tyres can be run at lower pressures, reducing micro-vibrations and helping limit rider fatigue over longer rides.

TYRE SENSITIVITY

GT Series wheelsets are optimised for running with a 30mm tyre. Strade GT is marginally faster with the wider tyre due to improved wheel/tyre interface.

Aerodynamics Lab wheelsets are optimised around a 28mm tyre. As rim depth increases, the aerodynamic impact of running a wider 30mm tyre diminishes.

In the case of our rear Disc wheel, a 30mm tyre is marginally faster, so it can be run with no aerodynamic penalty.

AERODYNAMIC PERFORMANCE

We also benchmark the aerodynamic and rolling resistance performance of many of the leading tyre brands.

Latest rankings shown as of 2026 (tested on a prototype front wheel)

ROLLING RESISTANCE

All rolling resistance data is based on BicycleRollingResistance.com analysis. Data for 30mm tyre sizes is not yet universally available so 28mm results are used as a proxy.

Rolling resistance values are shown as a delta from the fastest tyre for illustrative purposes and comparison.
