The 3S GT is built for one thing: to be the fastest front wheel we’ve ever made. It takes the trispoke concept and rebuilds it around everything we’ve learned in the tunnel, on the road and on the race course, with a shape optimised for modern 30mm tyres.
That speed comes without the usual trispoke penalty. VibraCORE damping is embedded in the structure, cutting the vibration that has always made three-spoke wheels punishing over race distance. All of the speed, none of the punishment.
The comparison chart above shows translational drag: the resistance created as the wheel moves forward through the air. The 0.5W saving is the translational result captured in the wind tunnel, but it is only one part of the aerodynamic picture.
A wheel also creates drag as it rotates, with every spoke or blade moving through the air on each revolution. CFD analysis shows that replacing 24 steel spokes with 3 aerodynamically-optimised blades saves a further 2.4W in rotational drag. Combined with the 0.5W translational saving, the 3S GT delivers a Total Aerodynamic Benefit of 2.9W.
